Calculate how many customers you need to cover your overheads
This is fantastic! We understand how hard it can be to work out how many customers you need through the door every day. And it can be hard to work this out.
We have developed an excel sheet to calculate the amount of customers that you need to cover your cost. It works on the amount of time and days that you are open, the average spend per customer, the average profit margin and your total overhead cost.
All you need to do is to work out what your total overhead is. This include the labour cost, the rent, the rates, the electricity etc. It can take some time to work this out but it's very important.
You then need to know the average spend of customer. This depends on the type of shop. We have given you an example.
The last thing is the average profit margin. You can calculate this with this form about profit margins.
